Mi-Lu is the brainchild of ‘Mi’chelle and ‘Lu’c and like the combination of their names, this beautiful guesthouse is a reflection of both their personalities. Vibrant yet tranquil, ambitious yet laidback, active yet zen.
Swiss Michelle and Dutch Luc crossed paths halfway around the world in Cambodia in 2016. Their life journey together, since 2016, has taken them across the Netherlands, Switzerland and finally Portugal where they put their roots down. They now devote their time and energy to being your best hosts in Portugal.
Michelle and Luc are both passionate surfers. In fact, it was surfing that led Michelle to discover Ferrel and Peniche. In 2017, Michelle was traveling the Portuguese coastline in search of the best surf waves. In a happy accident, she got stuck in Ferrel and fell in love with this part of the world. In the four years after, Michelle and Luc came back to surf this coast every single year. Each year they fell more in love with the magical Silver Coast. So they stayed and decided to commit to Milu Guesthouse in 2022.
And now, they welcome you to be part of this journey and experience their little bubble. As they say, Mi casa es Lu casa (get the joke?!)

Ferrel holds a very special place in our hearts. Ferrel is a small town (cidade) located in the Leiria municipality on the central-western coast of Portugal. Lush and green throughout the year, it is well-connected to the beach towns of Baleal and Peniche. Within 5 mins by car or 30 mins on foot, you can reach the surf spots of Baleal. Those of you with 20/20 vision will be able to simultaneously overview and assess four surf spots from this one beach!
Ferrel is a small yet very welcoming and tightly-knit surf community. More than half the residents in this town are people who came across Ferrel during their travels and the beauty of this place hooked them to put their roots down here.
If you want to feel at home in Ferrel, you do as the locals do. Surf during daylight hours, run local businesses or work remotely through the week and spend time socializing at the local cafes and bars in the evening. You will definitely bump into familiar faces when ordering your morning pastel de nata, enjoy great local wine and engage in exciting conversations during your stay here.
